It is characterized by castles in different parts of the city, each with its own unique history and different origin.

The best known is the "Castel dell'Ovo" of the twelfth century, situated on the islet of Megaride, surrounded by the Borgo Marinari.
The "Castle Maschio Angioino or Castel Nuovo" in Town Hall Square, built in the thirteenth century.
The "Castle of Sant 'Elmo', perched atop the full tuff hill of Vomero, has a star-shaped, which allows you to see the various parts of the city.
The "Capuano Castle", built in twelft century, takes its name from the nearby Porta Capuana, one of the ancient entrances to the city and now the seat of the Court.

Highlights include some of the main city squares, such as Piazza del Plebiscito, Piazza della Borsa, Piazza Dante, located in the historic center of Naples, and then some narrow streets, known as the San Gregorio Armeno where there are numerous artisan shops.
